Dr. Joy Hooter is the founder and lead audiologist at Hooter Hearing in Waco, Texas. With a Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Washington, a Bachelor's from Baylor University, and over a decade of hands-on clinical experience, she has helped more than 1,000 patients across Central Texas hear better and live fuller lives.
Dr. Hooter's approach is simple: treat every patient like family. She takes the time to understand each person's unique hearing challenges, lifestyle, and goals before recommending a solution. A hearing exam at Hooter Hearing goes way beyond the basic "beep test" you remember from school. Dr. Hooter runs a full audiological evaluation — testing every frequency range — so you walk out with a clear, complete picture of where your hearing actually stands.
The exam typically takes about 30 minutes and includes a medical history review, visual inspection of the ear canal, and multiple diagnostic tests. Results are explained clearly so you leave with a full understanding of your hearing status.
